He first said that his back was sore. Then when doctors couldn't find anything physically wrong, they said it was mental health issues. Philly was initially receptive and only started resuming fining him when he refused to speak to a team approved mental health specialist.
Make no mistake Ben Simmons is an absolute prima donna and it's a shame that he's allowed to stranglehold his team.
It's actually pretty odd because there much easier ways to lie and protect his paycheck. If Ben Simmons played for game or 2 and faked back soreness or any sort of hard to disprove physical pain, it would be very hard for the Sixers to avoid paying him.
Add to the intrigue of the story Ben Simmons impending nuptials. Maybe he's better enough to fall in love and get married but not yet to play basketball? Maybe a 25 yr old young man is growing up.
