He is faking injuries to protect his money. The reason why his money isn't being protected is because Rich Paul is supremely bad at faking these injuries.
He first said that his back was sore. Then when doctors couldn't find anything physically wrong, they said it was mental health issues. Philly was initially receptive and only started resuming fining him when he refused to speak to a team approved mental health specialist.
Make no mistake Ben Simmons is an absolute prima donna and it's a shame that he's allowed to stranglehold his team.
