2021-2022 AROUND the NBA: GSW Champs [ARCHIVED]

Really? CP3 to me is still the better player.

I think Westbrook would destroy their spacing. He needs the ball a lot (or at least likes the ball a lot) and playing next to LBJ his touches would be reduced significantly.

He's still a good player, and the Lakers would get better with the trade. But I wouldn't think of them as unbeatable or anything like that (not saying that you do).

I just can't imagine opting out of a 44.2M contract.

And if I'm ring hunting, Suns are as good as anyone in the West.  I guess he could go East and join the Nets or Bucks.  And at that point, that ring doesn't mean a whole lot from a legacy standpoint.

Nah....one hit wonder IMO. They'll be in the playoffs...but first round exit is way more likely than another finals run IMO.

I guess it depends on roster turnover, but if CP3, Booker, Ayton, Bridges and Johnson are back, I like their chances.  I don't think they are a fluke at all.  I really love Cam Johnson btw.

How about for a 3-year $100 M contract?

No one would offer that.  Especially not a team that can get him to his goal of a championship.  That's why the Suns and opting in make the most sense.

The talk the whole year was that his agent would test the waters.

Testing doesn't mean that he'd get a contract of that value and length.  I think he could get a 2 + 1 (TO) and make more than the 44.2M but not a crazy amount more than that and not for a contender.

I'm amazed someone still thinks RW is better than CP3.

Isn’t the RW rumour to the Lakers the same situation as Bogdonovic to the Bucks last year?
Lakers can’t be talking to Westbrook and Wizards can’t be talking to the Lakers players about sign and trade deals already.

Nico did all his tampering during his 2 week notice.  I hope.

Lakers and Wizards can talk with each other. Neither can officially talk with the players.

Big Grin
Great swipe at the "easy win" of the Super Teams.   Giannis did it more the Dirk way!

That's about as optimistic of a tweet as you can write about this finals.

It was the 4th lowest watched NBA finals ever. Losing only to:
3rd. Spurs v Nets (2003).
2nd. Spurs vs. Cavs (2007).
1st. Lakers vs. Heat (2020).

Viewership for the NBA is at an all time low. Laughably low in fact. I enjoyed watching the finals but Adam Silver has to be shitting his pants at how viewership has cratered since the bubble.
