I like Conley but he gets hurt a lot and is 33. If I could get him for like 2 years I might be interested. Certainly I'd rather have him than lots of other options including THJ. DMR is a guy I feel like if you get him in a 4 year deal he is going to be good for probably that 4 year span.
I think for Conley you'd need to do like 20/yr for two years. The Jazz may offer him something similar. If they don't resign him they don't really have a way to replace him. You might be able to trade them like J Rich + another piece in a S&T.

We have talked a lot about Derozan and I am sure his name will continue to pop up over the next month. The Spurs have a few other guys who are a part of the "guys I like team". I have always liked Patty Mills. He is not the same player Hardaway is but I feel like he gives you some of those same spurts when he gets going. I don't think he is a fit on the team now with our current lineup, but if you picked up another ball creator and decided to move Jalen, then I could see a potential fit for Mills.
I also like Rudy Gay and think he has bounced back from the achilles. Becoming a role player also fits him better than being a guy who is one of your top 3-4 guys. I think he could be an interesting mix and match guy with our other front court players. He could be a guy who you can run some offense thru and actually get you some buckets.
I tend to like a lot of Spurs players, but I always wonder if their value is at its peak due to playing under Pop. Two names who may not be sexy but solid rotational pieces that I believe would help in big games. They are both secondary moves. Once you get a bigger fish, they are solid complimentary pieces.

That would involve him preferring to play for the Mavs than for the Jazz, which it's hard to see how that would be the case. Aside, of course, from the Utah is a bad city factor.

But not as bad as Milwaukee!

I wouldn't go more than two years either, but that works out nicely for 2023 free agency. Four years for a guy who is a questionable fit seems like the bigger risk to me.
I would guess they'll have to offer closer to 25 to put max pressure on Utah and lure Conley away though. Without additional moves, that would cost Utah $75m next year alone (25 salary + 50 tax).

If Dame were to be available I wonder how possible it is for us to acquire 1st rd picks to send them in a package centered around Porzingis.
If we trade 2 of
-Brunson
-Kleber
-DFS
Can we acquire 2 1st’s?
Is KP and 2 1st’s enough? This is a scenario where Dame asks out and limits Portland to a handful of teams of which Dallas would have to be one.
Thank you Donnie.

If there's even one other team in the mix, I'm pretty absolutely convinced Dallas would be dead in the water.

I know right now we’ve all got visions of Lillard dancing in our head but check out Collin Sexton‘s clutch shooting.

Co-signed, tbh.
I'll add that while I do finally agree that Luka is ready to compete, that doesn't mean Dallas MUST get a near 30-year-old co-star in their prime. If they can get like a top 10 guy who's at that point, great, but if not, I say keep swinging for youth, myself.

Stats are far from everything. Seems like Sexton is hated by his teammates and bottom feeder Cleveland doesn't see future around him.

If Zach Lavine or Bradley Beal were to come available at the trade deadline having a guy like Sexton might get you in the conversation. Or he’s a young already efficient player who continues to get better and turns into a pretty damn good sidekick for Luka. Either way I think Sexton is exactly the kind of player you go after. Now obviously if an opportunity to get Lillard presented itself you 100% hundred percent do it but I don’t see that happening.

But maybe Cleveland is a bottom feeder because they’re bad at evaluating and developing talent. And his teammates don’t seem to dislike him personally they just think he’s a ball hog. That seems to be an issue that we could fix pretty easily.

He's hated by his teammates because he NEVER passes the rock...... He's a professional chucker....

Taken from the other thread.
You can get two unprotected 1sts for Kleber, DFS and Brunson from the legit win now contenders. The question is how low they´d be.
It means adding three borderline starters for the cost of one borderline starter. Covington was traded for two 1sts by himself.
Kuzma + two 1sts
Hill + two 1sts
Oubre + two 1sts
for Kleber, DFS and Brunson?
Same money. Every day of the week and twice on Sunday.
Steph/Brunson
Thompson/Poole
Wiggins/DFS
Draymond/Kleber
Looney/Wiseman
Damn.
The Mavs should not even do that trade unless, they have an agreed deal for Lillard, Lavine or Beal already.

My problem is not that he DOES NOT pass the ball. I don´t think he can pass the ball. How often he missed open teammates is worrisome.

I don't buy it. Unprotected firsts are reserved for stars.

Covington was traded for #16 pick in 2020 draft and protected 2021 FRP.

Exactly. Lakers picks would both be low 20s. Same value as those three.
You don´t think LeBron would trade Kuzma for DFS, Kleber and Brunson? They might all three be individually superior to Kuzma.
DFS only gets traded for an All-Star. His caphold is just $7.6M.
He averaged 10/7/2 with 43% 3pt shooting in the play-offs.
Covington was 9/8/1 with 50% 3pt shooting in the play-offs.
Factor in the salaries and DFS alone is worth as much as Covington.
