Literally 2 weeks ago when Jason Kidds name came up in Portland, 90% of the basketball world was laughing and saying maybe Dame is really an idiot for wanting him. He’s seen as a joke as a coach. Both his teams improved immensely as soon as he left.
Like I said, hopefully Vogel taught him something because he’s literally be bottom three on my list of potential candidates.

I always thought the fact that Skin was in the building and had some relationships meant that he had sources. You think not?

He’s also employed by Cuban and kind of an idiot. I 100% buy Carlisle hating to do interviews with someone who thinks has 1/10 of his basketball iq kinda like Pop hates doing those in game interviews.
Btw, I completely buy Carlisle is a dick but I’d rather have a top 5 dick coach than q bottom 5 everyone likes coach.

As much as I have issues with Rick and wanted him gone, it would be difficult to "upgrade" from him from an Xs and Os standpoint. It's not like Pop or Snyder are there for the taking.
You can go the unproven route and hope to hit on the next big coaching star. That's not off the table yet.
Kidd has had issues but he's good at relationships with other players. That's a skillset desperately needed here. If we were a contender, I'd probably hate this idea. If Kidd can help us improve the talent on the team, I have no issues with seeing if his coaching chops have improved. You can always fire him if a better option comes along.

Skin knows the players and coaches a little, at least from the standpoint of a media guy, but I have never perceived that he had any connections in the front office beyond just people knowing each other well enough to say hello. And I don't know if he knows anybody well enough for them to confide in him regarding inside stuff.
He comments on the news, often demonstratively, but I can't remember him breaking any. (I don't represent that I can remember everything, of course.)
Do we have other sources for this item? I listened to the Tim Cato pod, and he mostly expressed concern that the team was even considering Kidd. Seemed a little stunned that Carlisle would recommend Kidd on his way out, and took it as a dig. (Not saying the Kidd item isn't so, just trying to figure out where it's sourced).

He’s the skinny one out of Ben and skin right? The third guy on the broadcast?
If so, we got a big disagreement buddy. He’s an entertainer. He’s a basketball idiot. He doesn’t even work in sports anymore. He’s on the eagle or something trying to be Kidd Kradick.

The tension in the broadcast booth next season is going to be fun.

Said I love Skin, and I do. Just trying to properly source what seems to be a widely believed item, at least on the board. Not even saying it isn't so.

I mean I can understand the skepticism and Kidd is not without faults, but there are also a lot of reasons why Kidd makes sense.
Dirk/Fin relationship and general historical success with the Mavs.
Undoubtedly a top 7 PG of all time that understands the finer things about the NBA game that can translate to Luka.
For whatever reason players like playing under him with Dame making it a point to try and hire him and Giannis continued praise.
I also think getting Kidd means we need to get good vet assistants as well. Perhaps Stotts might join as he was apart of that 2011 chip and help Kidd (and if Kidd fails he's an obvious candidate for succession).

Nah, this (if even accurate, would love to hear the audio) is two people (one of whom is a team employee) trying to sell the fan base on everything that's happening, which is fine.
But, if it was really this bad, the dude would've been out a long time ago, and he wouldn't have gotten a new job less than a week after leaving. Common sense.
