I'm really coming around to the possibility of Maledon at #18 ....

An interesting out of the box big board.....though I scoff at Tyler Bey being left off completely....

He practically shutdown Paul George in the Clippers series and had some really good games.Put up 10/6/3 offensively, too. Covington put up 11/5/1 in the same play-offs. I am the same person as this is my other account but glad that you agree. You can find championship players everywhere. I will not send away guys like Dorian / Curry / Brunson. At some point you have to keep developing your guys rather than hitting the reset button. Those guys fit our culture and have the trust of Luka. The only guy I would move is Maxi, Delon, Boban, Jackson. I would move Tim Hardaway Jr but it would have to be for a guy that matches his years and salary. I would support adding Buddie Hield and I maintain that Aaron Gordon would be a good person to add to our team. Buddy Hield has superstar ability rotting away in Sac Town.

Not even legit if T'Bey not in the board.
Surprise to see Woodard ahead of Vassell Theo Maledon has already become my favorite playmaker.

He shot 46%/39%/85% in 2018-19.....then this past year shot 42%/33%/77% against better competition (jumping from Eurocup to Euroleague) but also had an injury to his shooting shoulder. If his 18/19 shooting numbers are his true self then I would take him all day at #18....but wonder if the regressed numbers are more accurate? After 18/19 I think many projected him as a top 5 pick, but this last year was really disappointing and didn't show the leap many thought would happen. https://twitter.com/townbrad/status/1328895413903126529 Quote:If you’re looking for the most likely trade partner for Dallas on draft night, it’s probably Oklahoma City. The Thunder has two assets that are the Mavericks' radar, Gallinari and swingman Danny Green, and are motivated sellers.

So based on Brad's report above I would be very willing if my main targets are gone at 18 to do this deal:
#18 <------> #25 + #28 You could draft TBey at one spot and Maledon/Bolmaro at the other. THEN you could use #31 in another deal (or use #28 in another deal instead).

I'm not going to even try to catch up tonight. Just read the most recent page of each thread. I like the idea of 31 being part of another deal because it keeps you from using part of the MLE to sign the pick to longer than is standard for a 2nd rounder. I'll trust you that the two guys in the mid/late 20's are just as good as one guy at 18. It feels to me there are 15-16 guys everyone likes and at 18 it is a little iffy you get one of those. Not sure if 31 would be used for a vet. You could also package it with one of the OKC picks to move back up a little bit and end up with 23 and 25? I also like dealing for a 2021 pick while keeping a late first this year too.

I personally think there is a bit of a consensus drop right around 16 and then you get like 30 guys that are all clumped pretty closely. I think there is a chance someone you really like slides to 18, but if you don't get that then I think you are better off trading back and getting another asset.

Use 31 to trade up if that's the case. Sweeten with Brunson as necessary.

That opens up the possibility of moving back as 18 by itself for Gallo is too much. Intriguing. Curious to see the Mavs draft board. If it is similar with a top 16 and one of those guys aren't there at 18... I'm punting on the draft and getting what I can out of it. I want the best value with the pick and at some point trading it becomes the far superior option instead of reaching.

I just did this trade and it went through. The Mavericks also create Trade Exception to add Galinari
Boston Receives Steven Adams Maxi Kleber Kelly Oubre Pick 31 Dallas Receives Gordon Hayward Pick 14 Pick 26 OKC Receives Tim Hardaway Jr. (Buyout) Justin Jackson Delon Wright Romeo Langford Marcus Smart Pick 18

The Mavericks also create Trade Exception to add Galinari So the Mavs trade Maxi+THJ+Wright+Jackson18+31 for Gordon Hayward+14+26? So basically 2 key rotation pieces, 2 non-impact pieces to move up in the draft+Hayward. It's not terrible. But I think Hayward alone isn't worth THJ+Maxi. And in this trade the Mavs essentially trade away all of their tradeable contracts. Only DFS+Curry+Brunson+Powell remain. Maybe a revised one could be: Boston Receives Steven Adams Maxi Kleber Pick 31 Dallas Receives Gordon Hayward Ricky Rubio Danny Green Pick 26 OKC Receives Tim Hardaway Jr. (Buyout) Justin Jackson Delon Wright Dwight Powell Pick 18 Pick 14 OKC gets 2 picks plus gets off of Rubio+Adams money and breaks it into 3 smaller contracts. Saves OKC about 17 mil this season and gives them value contracts to match for trades, because most of the team is now on rookie deals. Plus OKC can add 2 more first rounders to their treasure trove. Boston gets the big man they want, plus a back up big. They stay in the draft and only move down 5 spots. Adams is expiring so they aren't tied up. Kleber is on a value contract and makes Thies expendable. Mavs get their ball handler, wing, and shooter plus stay in the draft with a first round pick. If Hayward opts in without an extension, Mavs could be looking at close to 32 mil in cap space with the Giannis summer looming. If Hayward extends lets say at 20 mil a year, the Mavs would have about 12 mil in space but a Rubio trade could put them right back at 30 mil.
