Stupid question. Caruso is a great defender but why don’t players try to fight over screens like this instead of an automatic switch. Is there a reason why this is not done more often?

It's just one game, but the Pacers are deeper, and the pace they play at getting up the court on makes or misses is going to tire the Knicks out during the course of this series I believe. If they can stay close in rebounding they can win this.

He blew a dunk early that helped open up a Knicks run, but I'm kind of impressed by Toppin.

He's athletic as hell, can jump out the gym, and can shoot the 3. He actually could have helped the Knicks because they have no one on their team with his athleticism. Don't know why the Knicks gave up on him.

This has been settled for a while, but I was wrong on Nesmith. That was a weird draft (Covid year), but he played like 13 games against poor competition and shot a ridiculous percentage. I thought there was no way that was real. I was hoping he would get picked before the Dallas pick. The first few years in Boston he did very little. It shows you the value of scouting though. Indy traded Brogdon for a packaged where Nesmith and a future first was included to Indy. Nesmith has turned into a great role player. In some ways, he is exactly the type of player I hoped Josh Green would have turned into. Unfortunately that did not happen.

If only we had connections to a former Mav's player who coached him in college. That would have been helpful, right?

Nesmith had the best jumpshot of anyone in that draft. However, I don't think anyone saw him as a 2-way player at that moment. You never know when someone can pick up enough NBA defense to be a good rotation player.

That 2020 draft was franchise changing for the Pacers...despite not having a first round pick. In time, they wound up with Haliburton, Nesmith and Toppin.
