Seems like those are often the worst deals.
Positively, but that's what bad franchises HAVE to do. To me the moral of the story is to not trade for overpaid players... and be a well managed franchise so you don't have to overpay your own.

Bradley Beal is open to waiving his no-trade clause to join the Bucks, per @Gambo987 ( https://t.co/qihvULWqTI).
Milwaukee was a finalist alongside the Suns to get Beal originally in 2023 from the Wizards.

There’s some buzz building around a potential Jimmy Butler trade framework including the Heat, Suns, Bucks and a facilitating fourth team. Phoenix would receive Jimmy Butler. Milwaukee would receive Bradley Beal. Miami would receive Khris Middleton. Facilitator takes on salary.

Blowing it up?
I honestly don't understand why they think a Lillard+Beal backcourt fits.

They're both injury prone as they've gotten older. I'd rather have Middleton personally, I think he's a better overall player.

Middleton has diminished far greater from injury than Beal. Right now, Beal is a much better player. I just don't understand why MIL would want to have 3 max players...

Your opinion, you're entitled to it.

I am typically pro player, but this really bothers me. He is making 50 million this year and has a player option for 50 million. Be a pro. Sure, it is disappointing he wasn't extended. It wouldn't have been an issue if he was 30, but he isn't. You can be disappointed and make it known you want to be elsewhere, but be a pro. A contract is something to be honored. After the season, you can say screw you to Miami. But if you pick up the player option, it is on him to be a pro.

And I feel like it's going to be a Allen Iverson situation when he drops a level
he won't be able to accept it and will hurt more than he helps

Beal might single handedly control the entire trade deadline and in turn alter the outcome of the season.
No one wants him, and for teams that would take him for salary, he wont approve a trade there. Interesting.

I’ll bet he’s pretty happy about that contract he signed!

OK, amateur GM’s.
Under the current CBA, which is more damaging to your team?
1. Overpay to re-sign your player, or
2. Let him walk for nothing.
In the old days, we’d probably choose to overpay, recognize that we have a negative contract, but one that can be traded for another overpaid player that fits our needs better.
But now?
Those trades are much harder to find and execute than before.
I think I’d argue that it’s better, long-term, to let them walk for nothing.

Age is the biggest factor imho. Can´t overpay for 30+ (or injury-prone/420) players anymore. Butler, Beal, McCollum, Ingram, Middleton. No takers. Lavine rehabbed his value, but the knees will also hurt his value, but at least he´s not immovable anymore.
Butler is completely crazy, if he thinks he´ll get more per year than his age. I think this might be the end for him. Only question how much of his remaining contract Miami will pay and how much they´ll fine away.

Makes sense. When you are a whiny tantrum throwing veteran that likes to take out his personal problems on his young co-stars, you want nothing to do with J-AR15 Morant.
