How concerned are we about him possibly leaving for LA?

A little bit more than I was previously. But I still don't see why he'd leave Kidd's bench to go be another assistant behind Redick. Unless he thinks Redick's time as a coach is going to be short and will be fired sooner than later.

The Lakers’ search for assistants on JJ Redick’s staff isn’t off to the greatest start. Here’s where things stand and the roadblocks they keep hitting with high-level assistants. For @LakersDailyCom:

https://lakersdaily.com/inside-the-laker...-unlikely/

Quote:Dudley is a valued member of the Dallas Mavericks coaching staff that helped that team reach the Western Conference Finals. Sean Sweeney has a real shot at Detroit’s head coaching job, sources say, and if he lands there, Dudley would be in line for a promotion. Even if Sweeney returns, it’s likely Dudley remains in Dallas, which is considered a more stable job than the Lakers’ right now.

Seems like Dudley is here to stay, but we may be losing Sweeney....

Hardy, Lively, Jones, Duds—something’s up, man.
Pessimism doesn’t make you smart, just pessimistic.

Idk...he's the defensive guy, yeah? That kind of seems like what Kidd is good at, to me.

Gotta make room for Vogel somehow!

Kidd is the CEO. He doesn’t draw up schemes. That’s all Sweeney

This is a Kyrie fan account, so read this tweet with that in mind (because some of the statements in here are a little silly) BUT I think he does have an overall point. Click the tweet to watch the video too.

Kyrie single handedly changed the Mavs future. He got them to draft Lively. He got them to get Gafford. Now he strengthening his friendship with Naz. He’s gonna get hella people to want to come to Dallas i just wished we had more money.

Mavericks lead assistant coach Sean Sweeney will officially be back with the team this upcoming season and won’t be going anywhere, a Mavericks source confirmed to me today for those who may have been looking additional official reporting on this #MFFL

Nico Harrison and the Mavs front office playing some Bobby Fischer level front office chess. I'm not sure it's hyperbole to say it might be the finest 24 hours of Mavs front office work ever. Certainly, since the maneuvering to acquire Dirk and Steve Nash on Draft Night 1998.

Man, I think the most likely explanation given all the facts is that they decided to go a different way. I’m coming around on it.

Will definitely miss DJJ though.

Lively already has developed it. He just isn't allowed to do it in games. Watch the form on his 3 in the finals. It's literally perfect form. He spoke earlier this season about Kidd not letting him shoot them in game yet. There's lots of practice footage of him draining corner 3s over and over. He's also developed some pretty nice moves down low, but I guess he isn't allowed to do that either. I think they literally spent all year developing his offense, but just kept it simple in games so he could focus on defense and rebounding and catching lobs. His draft workout shows him hitting 14 corner 3s in a row. Obviously game situations are different, but I really think he could shoot a good percentage next year if he's allowed to shoot 2-3 a game. I bet he shoots 35% or better from 3.
