If Ajinca becomes the best frenchman of this class, we´ll have officially ended the Hawks franchise.

Melvin Ajinca is the second Ajinca in his family line to play for the Mavs. One of the simplest roles of any player in the Draft: True 3&D without much outside of those boundaries in the best way

Nephew of Alexi Ajinca

it's generally difficult to maintain a championship roster for multiple years with the presence of hard cap, decent role players from a champion team who become FAs often get overpaid elsewhere, I think that's part of why we see a different champion almost every season in recent years (barring the warriors), and it won't take long before we get our turn tbh.

Is this a draft and stash, or someone with a chance to make the roster?

Damn good question. I've never heard of this player.

It was obviously meant as a joke, but a month ago I made a post about the fact that it ´s weird that Ajinca has cancelled all his workouts and that maybe the Mavs made him a promise with his ties to the franchise. I looked at his tapes as a result. Wasn´t really impressed with his U19 highlights. Very very raw, basically a great athlete and not much else. He made a few baskets, that just felt like more luck than skill.

Apparently Woj, Shams, and Fischer keep getting locked out of their twitter accounts right now. So we have no clue!

The Warriors traded this No. 52 pick for Lindy Waters III, OKC traded it to Portland, and then Golden State bought it back a couple hours later because the second round is the second round, baby.

The nice thing about calling Rich Paul is you only risk a 2nd round pick if he's bluffing.
Call.

Very likely a stash. I think they´ll sign two-way players with better chances to make it to the roster via the G-League in the next two years.

His shot looks rough. Even in highlights, everything is touching the rim when it goes down. Nothing is swishing.  Looks athletic with good size though.

Great call though.

NY just can't fleece us enough. I don't think they're doing us a favor knowing some team would take him #52 so they pick him for us. they will want something back imho

I was wandering just the other day. A lot of raw french guys with great measurements were drafted in past couple of drafts, some even with solid FRP (Doumbuya, Hayes, Dieng, Coulibaly,...). How many of them actually lived up to their draft position? Wemby of course excluded
