I would MUCH rather just keep Dinwiddie. You and I are far apart on some of these evaluations.
How much Toronto have you watched this year? I don’t ask to be snarky, it’s just that I don’t think VanVleet is the same player you are remembering. They hate him up there right now. Like MavsForum/THJ level hate.

McGee to Boston for Gallinari.
It would be a great trade for Dallas, but I don't think Boston would be willing to pay him for another two years. If only he was expiring... The way McGee was playing, it is cheaper for Boston to dump Gallo and sign someone like Howard or Cousins while getting similar on court result. Or just sign one of those to their empty slot.

That is great to hear, Bullock has value. I really don't like Reddish, I think he is a DSJ or FN level bust and will likely be on vet min deal next year, clinging to stay in the league. It seems it is just swapping one bad wing for another. Bullock expiring contract also should gave value for Dallas next season, unless the only goal is to save money. Reddish for Bullock doesn't work directly anyway. So, what else is NY sending to Dallas? And no, it is not Quickley
However, to the ones thinking about scenarios where Dallas goes for two capable players instead of a Robin. Would Quickley (with one FRP going to NY) and then another deal with the remaining pick this TDL for someone like Bogdanovic do anything for you?
Or alternative, sending lightly protected 2028 FRP that converts to two seconds. Mavs would still have 3 picks to trade in the summer this way

Multiply $5.9mm times 1.25 and add $100k. It doesn't work. It would be 1.75 instead of 1.25 if the outgoing stayed under $6.5mm if Dallas wasn't a taxpaying team after the trade. But, if this is all that is happening, then the 1.25% spread applies.
So, you have to add salary to Reddish to get to Bullock. Any of Grimes, Quickley or Toppin would do it. To me, Quickley isn't quite worth a distant first on his own (close, but not there). Bullock for Reddish is more advantageous to NY than Dallas. I think the play here would be to 'enhance' the pick NY already has. Critics rightfully say that most of the picks NY has besides their own are crap picks. One enhancement Dallas could do to balance Reddish/Quickly for Bullock would be to move the protected 23 out to 27 or 28 and make it unprotected or very lightly protected. That is past the Doncic Super Max and just like the value teams place on the post-Lebron Laker picks, it has good theoretical value.
That would leave Dallas free to trade 23 and 25. I think I'd create a center trade AND salary dump with either SA or Indy. I'd try to get either Poeltl or Turner and send out Bertans and Powell or Bertans and McGee. Sending Powell gets me under the LT this season and resets the repeater clock. My preference would be to make the 25 pick kind of a 'fake first' that is protected and converts to seconds in 26, but that would be dependent on how much salary SA/Indy has to eat and what else is in the deal. My new center would start and I'd extend Wood to the years he wants to be my backup C and PT four when opponents required it. I've now fixed my third guard situation and my center situation and only given up Bullock/Powell in terms of currently useful players. I'll go to war with that for the next several years.

Basically nothing Mavs related other than CWood is expected to miss more time than originally expected and the deadline decision looms with him if they are not able to reach an extension.

The decision looms. Can’t “Brunson” it up again. We must pay him or trade him. If he wants more than his max, we should trade
We could’ve got something like Quickly and a FRP for Brunson at the last deadline. If we knew he was leaving then something is better than nothing

NYK is a good trade partner as far as salary matching deals go. DFS/Bullock/SD/Frank/Powell for Rose/IQ/Fournier/Toppin/Hartenstein/Reddish works well as far as salaries. I’d do that with the trade of the 23 for the lightly protected 28 you proposed.
Most of those guys are having down years and the guys we’re sending are our good players while receiving both their worst contracts. Plugs their hole at the 3 and gives them a vet bench that they can be proud of and they know they’ll work well with JB. We get 3 ball handlers in Rose, IQ and Fournier and a youth movement.

Thank you very much kind sir!
Ok I was playing with the idea of Reggie to Knicks.
What about something like:
Reggie + Javale for Fournier + Jericho Sims(or a second rounder or two) ?
I like the idea of trading Reggie for some minor assets, opens up playing time for Josh and Hardy, also getting Sims who I think is a nice rotational player going forward.
Fournier is an ideal buy low candidate IMO, but the defense would take a hit...

Nothing particularly new:
- Caruso has a high price currently
- Drummond could be on the market
- many teams monitoring FVV situation, Orlando could target him in FA with big offer
- he believes neither Siakam nor Anunoby are trade candidates at TDL
- Wood remains a player to be monitored, as Mavs and him have not agreed to an extension yet
- Orlando is willing to trade Bamba, Harris, Ross and Hampton
