100. I really do not want to damage our great reputation among agents and players that has brought us repeated success in free agency over the last decade and led to such bargain deals like Parsons, Jordan, Matthews and Barnes. PLEASE NO.
Also if THJ signed such a bargain deal, why haven´t we gotten a beautiful return on his trade yet.

just spitballing here but it looks like Indy was interested in THJ based on the rumor of the Lavert trade proposal. So what if the Mavs did
THJ, Burke & Moses Brown
for
TJ Warren, Torey Craig and T Thompson.
Thompson would have to be a seperate deal but he could slide into the TE.
this saves Indy about $1.2m this year. Gives them two pieces that Carlisle knows and likes along with a developmental center at a relatively cheap cost.
Mavs get two bench wings. if TJ can be healthy he can really boost the offense off the bench and Craig is solid.
Thompson helps add depth at the bigs or you can buy him out.
Then the Mavs can try to get Dragic on the buyout market.
If you wanted to get crazy you can call Atlanta and see if they wanted to get in on this.
THJ & a Dallas 2nd to Indy
Maxi, Craig & a Mavs 1st to Atlanta
TJ Warren & Collins to Dallas.
Dallas still does Thompson into the TE and buys him out.
Indy gets 2nd, THJ and saves about around $6m this year
Atlanta gets two defenders and a first. If they want, they can take Burke (or Indy can)
then if neither team wants Burke or Brown you cut them.
Luka/ Dragic/ Frank
Brunson/ Bullok/ Green/ Brown
DFS/ Warren
Collins/ Bullock
KP/ Powell/ Chriss/ Boban

Jalen/JGreen/Brown

Bullock/Maxi/Craig

just a thought. what do you all think?

Well, you’d have to get a big back in such a deal. Holmes?
If Powell is outgoing in a deal, I would say homes is probably the best possible replacement on the market. New ballgame, at that point.

I really like TJ Warren, but he'd most likely be a DFS replacement in the starting lineup. I'm also quite worried how he'll look after having a 2 year rehab with his foot. Ideally he's a 2-way wing that we've been desperate to add to this lineup.
Perhaps IND does find some value getting off of Warren's expiring and getting THJ in return. Definitely an intriguing thought.

KP for Dragic seems fair One would think Mavs would expect something else from Toronto.

I had a conspiracy theory about Kristaps’ “injury”. They had him go out during a game so it would actually look like he is injured in preparation for a trade. Keeps the media quiet.

In some cases. In recent years it hasn´t been as bad (since Luka arrived) but prior to that the Mavs started season after season with completly different rosters. Don´t know who it was and I think it was heavily influenced by Rondo/Perkins but the Mavs bad reputation has been a topic in the media.
We could focus on JJB, Powell or Dirk. Or we could focus on Rondo, DAJ. More recently Richardson, Wright and Johnson. Mavs probably aren´t the worst but I don´t think free agents are lining up to join the Mavs because it is a player friendly orgnanization.
