There isn't enough playing time for all the players that you propose to sign. You won't learn from practice whether those players have gotten over the hump, they'll need playing time and we don't have a lot of extra minutes to give out.

And I'm not sure if thats true.
I think you're right, but IF it is enough, unlikely as that might be...I think you kind of have to pull the trigger on that, personally. You'd even still have Green to start at the 3.

I would do it. More importantly, you would also have 2024 or 2025 to use or trade immediately after draft for another improvement.

So freakin dumb that LBJ and most likely KD will be captains. Should be Luka or Jokic and Giannis.

Memphis and Denver look like the class of the West...with New Orleans probably just outside of that. It will be interesting if anyone can join them. Is a Healthy Clippers team even possible?
East looks like Boston and Bucks despite some struggles recently. Nets are tbd for me currently.
Besides the Clippers, I am not sure anyone else can join this group.

He is a really intriguing prospect. It will be interesting what Portland does this offseason. Re-sign Grant? What do they do with Hart? I think there is some thought they might not want to be a luxury tax team.
Hart has his faults, but he is a guy I would love to have on the Mavs. Always been one of my sneaky favorites....although he has been pretty bad against the Mavs this year.

The Clipper's strategy is to not play George, Wall and Leonard, on back-to-backs throughout the regular season, to preserve them for the playoffs. This may backfire. I don't necessarily agree with it, because they won't establish continuity with their teammates by the time the playoffs come around. George had 3 pts last night, in 14 mins, and Leonard had 6 pts in 18 mins, in a 122-91 blowout in Denver. They play the T-Wolves in Minny on another back-to-back tonight. Unless PG and Kawhi are able to play consistently, I won't put them as a top 5 team in the West. Hart does the little things for the Blazers, hustle, steals, loose balls, and is a excellent rebounder for his size. I don't see Portland trading him, but it depends on the situation.

Tyler Dorsey worked out for the Lakers yesterday. Supposedly they are bringing in deMarcus Cousins next week as well for a workout.

was curious what was up with the Isaac contract
His guaranteed money the last 2 years could go from almost 35 mil down to 7.6
Got to think they're considering it

We talked about him yesterday for just a split second. I know many won't like this idea, but this, to me, is a player who could help the Mavs quite a bit and more importantly who they might have a realistic shot at getting.

Sucks to consider it but he could realistically be our second best player. We need any talent we can get especially if it doesn't cost much assetwise

My prediction is that if Isaac is traded it will be to a team looking to capitalize on that small amount of guaranteed money and release him, not to play him. I don't know when the appropriate time to do that would be, because I haven't looked at the contract. But, I think his career is over. I think he's Tariq Abdul Wahad.
Sucks, because OMG would he be the perfect version of that 4 we've been discussing if he ever again became an idealized version of himself.

He would absolutely be the second best player on this team. No question.

Hard to be 100% sure how to read the contract details.
I´d say:
Waived before Jan 10th 2023: $16M to Isaac
Waived before Jan 10th 2024: $25M to Isaac (full 2022/2023 salary + partial guarantee 2023/2024)
Waived before Jan 10th 2025: $34.8M to Isaac (full 2022/2023 + 2023/2024 salary)
Not waived al all: $52.2M to Isaac (full contract)
If Isaac also receives the partial guarantee for 2023/2024, if waived before Jan. 10th this year, then the incentive to waive him now is really low for the Magic. Would be just $1.4M in savings.

I thought I was following you, but you lost me in that last paragraph. Am I correct that if a team trades for him and then waives him before Jan 10 of this year, $16 Million is the TOTAL amount they'd be on the hook for?
Because if that's the case, we might see that play out soon, imo.
