AROUND the NBA:
surprised by the Philly win in the series.  I did not watch much of that series.  When healthy, that Philly team is pretty good.   I love having two insanely quick guards.   They just cause so many fits.    They can be dangerous if healthy.   The if healthy part is the tough part.   Paul George is no longer a top player in the league but all they need is another month of good play.  Embid is not a top 5 player any longer, but they just need another month of good play.   We will see.

I should have seen the Celtics thing coming...maybe not this early though.   They had a fantastic year but it was probably too much to expect Tatum to last thru a grueling playoff series with such few games this year.   This summer will be good for him.  He showed he still is good.  He just needs this summer to continue pushing himself.   Boston is positioned well.   They should be a contender next year.  With that being said, I would definitely be calling Stevens to have him turn me down.

Not fixing their shooting or playmaking issues but if he signs for the BAE or less that's a great deal for the Pistons. Always been a great defender. Seemingly improved his shooting touch. Was one of the key players for Germany in the last two big tournament wins (world cup and euro baskets).

Stewart and Mo Wagner on the same court in a game 7. Do they have the national guard on high alert? Big Grin

Seems like a great opportunity to take a flyer on Holland. The Mavs desperately need perimeter defenders and he's one of the best. He'll only be 21 next year so there's still time to develop the shot.

Baring a miracle that's three consecutive first round exits for the Magic. Still a young core but that's probably as far as Banchero will ever lead a team as a first option. They need to make some changes and it starts with the coach. Mosley is not it. Dreadful half court offense. No spacing. If they cannot score in transition the possession ends with a heavily contested late clock iso jumpshot.

I hate Moseley's sideline demeanor. There's so many times his team looked lost, especially in the halfcourt, and he'd just stand there with his arms crossed. I kept waiting for him to call out plays or create energy by being animated, but, nope, nothing. I think he's a top tier assistant, but not really head coach material.

Looks like Spida and Beard are going to ride JA's coattails into the second round.
