After watching TJ McConnell in the playoffs I would love to take a shot at a player with a similar skillset.

New Orleans Pelicans chatter: Pelicans have considered deferring their pick from the Lakers until next year, I’m told.

Pelicans currently hold the Lakers’ 2024 first round pick at No. 17 but have the option to defer the pick to 2025.

The deadline to defer is June 1st.

Unless you absolutely fall in love with someone that should be available, I would think that you would probably gamble that Lebron leaves or that they just crater with Lebron.  Expected strength of next years draft should also be taken into accounting.

Makes sense. Lakers likely to be worse next year.

fun thing about the draft is learning about guys I never heard of. I was looking at the Ringer top 63 and looking at guys ranked after 40. Again, I know nothing about these guys. But a few of them caught my attention just watching a few minutes of highlights.

Mogbo 46

Zyon Pullen---I actually saw some of him # 50

Cam Spencer # 51

Adem Bona- # 60- A young athletic defender who is raw. Would be really nice to put him on a two way
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RAF34cUbTGM&t=34s

Reece Beekman # 63- Interesting prospect. Defender and good decision maker

If you are looking for draft and stash guys or long range developmental guys there are some foreigners if they keep their name in the draft.

Theirry Darlan- 7'1 wing span- 20 years old
Ulrich Chomche 7'4 wing span age 18
Izan Almansa 7'1 wing span age 18

Typically if these players stay in the draft, a team in the mid second round will draft them over an older US prospect. Still though, some names to consider.

Almansa looks interesting. Most upside, always trust Spanish big man school. Mogbo looks the most ready, also nearly 23 years old. Rest looks meh.

I still like Sandfort the most. Has the size to get his 3pt shot off. Seems to have a little floater too, when he puts it on the floor. He´s recently moved from 58 to 40 on Tankathon´s mock draft. I´d easily give up the 2025 1st for a THJ dump and Sandfort.

Sandfort withdrew form the draft and returned to school.

Okay lost interest. If you don´t want to enter this draft, you not interested in a pro career.

It's weird because this is probably the best draft if you're a fringe prospect to get drafted in. I think we're going to see many teams take risks this draft on guys. Draft and stash's galore.

But to be a fringe prospect and withdraw is nutty. Maybe he thinks a year more for development will really help him but to crack into the 2025 draft is going to be a tall order.

Just stay away from undersized score first guards that lack fundamentals. Still have three of them on the Legends roster ("Jelly" Walker, Miles Jr and Williams). Would love to see a floor general type. Skimming through draft reports and some tape the best available options are Nunez, Shead, Alexander or Beekman.

A PG from Ulm. Well what Killian go wrong there. Big Grin So I suggest to draft a French guy from Ulm instead. Tongue I like Dadiet a lot.

My theory on deep and shit drafts with no clear top is that you draft international or old college. Those are the guys that usually get undervalued in these drafts, because it´s easier to justify taking wild swings on young upside players early, when there is no clear feel for who is guaranteed to be good or at least not a bust.

Hayes comparisation could be the reason why he isn't getting as much hype. On paper a 20 year old PG with his track record in europe is at least a late first round prospect.

NEWS: Projected top-10 NBA draft pick Nikola Topic has a partially torn ACL, his agent, Misko Raznatovic, confirmed to ESPN. Topic is at the NBA's Draft Combine in Italy, where he went through the NBA's medical examination.

He has been hovering around anywhere from top 3-7. 2nd major knee injury to him as well.

I think Nikola Djurisic could be a good get with a 2nd round pick. The Mavs FO will probably need to buy an early 2nd to get him.

The Mavericks have 3-4 needs in my eyes. The first two can be gotten through trades.

1) Someone who can properly spell Luke or Kyrie... Coby White. Not gonna find someone ready to contribute with 2nd round pick.
2) A 3rd Center to replace Dwight... Jericho Sims is exactly what's needed. Lively is also a rookie, therefore, don't want another rookie Center.
3) A Forward with a good offensive game... Nikola Djurisic? Or Jalen Bridges? Or Harrison Ingram? Perhaps, two of these?

G (Scoring): Kyrie, Coby??, Hardy
G (Defensive): DJJ, Green, Exum
F (Scoring): Luka, Nikola Djurisic??, Jalen Bridges??,
F (Defensive): PJW, Kleber, O-Max
C: Lively, Gafford, Sims??

OKC needs to get this guy right? Probably a summer league/ undrafted two way looksee. I would imagine the facility is going to be pretty quiet today.

Jalen Bridges looks like a decent 3&D prospect. Not sure why he's being mocked so low.

Nice find, he looks interesting from his highlights. If he's projected to go in the 2nd round, he could be another nice gamble to take. TBH, it would be nice if the Mavericks FO purchased 2x early 2nd round picks to draft Bridges and Djurisic, both.
