This is what I always argue for. Why worry about successfully signing Theis in free agency, when you can just get a similar player AND a pick NOW.
I tend to agree. People here lose their minds over investing too much money at C. Hornets just got paid to spend $8mm on a decent rotation center.
They can operate over the cap now by retaining the hold on Monk. So, they have #11 and the MLE to add to Plumlee (who is replacing Zeller and typically much healthier). So, they can add Theis if they want a rotation at the spot or draft a C or any number of things with the two assets they have to improve their team.
