From mavsluvr’s summary of the Followill/Dameris podcast… Shane Battier is an interesting name for GM. He had been in the Heat’s front office since 2017, as VP (started as director) of analytics and player development. He just resigned several days ago, apparently. Seems he will just do consulting work for the Heat going forward - it does sound like he has an interest in a more prominent role (interviewed with Detroit in 2018).
