I don´t think Luka really wants to play this out on the QO, but no way, I´m happy to sign a 4+1 extension with this sh*thole either. Especially considering his agent doesn´t have the highest opinion of Cuban already.
Maybe I get just $70-150M secured in the bank. Then I trust the NBA cap will explode in a post-COVID world and I can sign a max contract against a $135-140M cap with any team I want.
That´s the part nobody has discussed yet. It´s always like QO +leave immediately or 4+1 years.
What if Luka says I´m good with a 2+1 (player option) extension. That means the Mavs only get 24 months guaranteed until he can become an UFA, which means he can apply trade pressure as early as 12 months into the deal.
