Today's edition of my never gonna happen trade machine during lunch:
Mavs-Hornets-Pacers-76ers
Mavs Out: KP, Kleber, Brunson
Mavs In: Simmons, Turner
76ers Out: Simmons
76ers In: Brogdon, Bridges/PJ
Hornets Out: Hayward, Bridges/PJ
Hornets In: KP, Warren/Lamb
Pacers Out: Turner, Brogdon, Warren/Lamb
Pacers In: Hayward, Kleber, Brunson
I think the Mavs (obviously) and 76ers are both better after this. A Brogdon, Curry, Bridges/PJ, Harris, Embiid lineup is tough. Hornets would have to really love KP's fit...they prob need something else to make it worthwhile...but you might could get them across the finish line. Pacers love them some Hayward but Kleber, Brunson not enough for Brogdon, Warren/Lamb. Mavs don't have the assets to make this one work.
If they had actually had some young talent to throw around I think you might could squint and make this structure work.
If JRich opted out and Mavs declined WCS; they would have around $28 million in space to add a sniper and fill out the bench.
C - Turner
PF - Simmons
SF - DFS
SG - Free Agent
PG - Luka
Bench: Powell, whatever is left of youngins, FA's..........Burke.
Simmons plays the roll man when he is on with Luka...runs the offense when Luka sits. Need that SG pickup to be a sniper. That's two DPOY type talents in Simmons and Turner and now DFS is in a better defensive role.
Done with NBA2K trade fun that would never happen...and back to work
