Ronzone was the Mavs' international guy, apparently. At one time not THAT long ago, Donnie Nelson was given credit around the league for being the very best at finding gems from Europe (finding Dirk will do that, I guess), but Fish has always told us that Ronzone was the real man behind all of that. He apparently spends most of his time over there scouting the best prospects. He gets to know them and develops relationships with their families years before they're even draft eligible. This is very likely at least part of the reason Luka wanted to come here.
It may have been his very loss that made Donnie expendable in Cuban's eyes.
