Based on the info we have, I don’t think so.
But, I’m starting to feel like more of KP’s problems this year were about “buying in” than I previously thought. If it’s true that he turned a corner last week, physically (I didn’t notice it, but both he and Carlisle said so) AND if it’s true that something clicked and he’s now aware that he needs to accept the changing “defensive job description” of an NBA center, then the combo of those two things might give me a little hope.
I DO trust that Carlisle and Nelson have a much better understanding than we do about whether this is fixable, I just don’t know if I think they actually believe what they’re saying in the press.
