Believe it or not, GA at his max is actually the BYC concern. It puts him about $700k above a 20% raise. The remedy is using his old salary for trade matching purposes, so no problem according to my amateur read of the FAQ.
I think big money to Johnson would be a fallback position. THJ at $16mm is probably preferable even at multiple years. It is a pretty unlikely scenario as it has to satisfy a bunch of people simultaneously. Just pointing out the possibility of doing trade matching rather than cap room. It gives you about a $6.7mm advantage in terms of being less destructive to the current roster.
