So what are we allowed to talk about in this thread and what is off limits 

Bingo, and there you have put your finger on the overarching problem on a board like this.  The total division in the country is also represented among sports fans.  So much so, that pretty much any topic, aside from actual game action, is subject to extreme ideological differences.  I'm not sure what the solution is, except for a person to be able to say what they think, and for those who are on the other side, to accept that such person has the right to believe as they do.  If we cannot accept that, then we are at an impasse.

mtrot, did you notice that while I added a note to your post, I actually deleted someone who went at you and who disagreed with you but wasn't trying to stay on the boycott topic?
