Even in that scenario he is a good salary fit for various bad contracts the Mavs could absorb to generate future value. Orlando for example overpaid Suggs big time. They probably would love nothing more than getting out of his contract. Mavs on the other hand shouldn't be scared to trade for players like this if they get a fair compensation.
And that's just one example.
It's kinda weird that people like Presti but when I propose stuff that is very similar to his approach when he build OKC they aren't interested. If the Mavs want to rebuild they need to embrace it. With all the things that go along with it.
