Great trade, imo. This is the one I brought up earlier.

Funny thing: people in Dallas at the time thought the trade was about LaFrentz. While I’m sure Nelson’s Mavs were into the idea of a left handed shot blocker who could shoot 3’s, that trade was unquestionably about Van Exel. It’s amazing how much more savvy to how the league actually works the average NBA fan has become since then.
