Jalen Brunson and Dorian Finney-Smith are eligible for 4-year, $55 million extensions

If Brunson gets better, as most here think he will, then he's going to get paid in his next contract. After all, this is a "contract year" for him so he has motivation beyond just yearly incremental improvements. But as good has JB might get, he'll still be trapped behind Luka. At least I can't envision a world were they are both starters on a high performing team.

All of which means, he's going to get a much bigger contract but who's going to pay is still up in the air.

The other side is JB stays the same or regresses or gets injured, in which case he'll probably have to take whatever Cuban offers.
