PJ and Miles are part of their young core. Don't see it happening.Yeah i think the return will be underwhelming. The whole league has the scoop at this point. KP is an injury prone, one way player on a max deal. It’s not like it used to be with trades. Almost every single front office these days is well managed. It may look more like a salary dump if he doesn’t end the season on a high note

Love, Prince, Sexton and a Cavs 1st for KP and Burke

We gain absolutely nothing by trading for Love. His contract runs well into the Doncic extension, so we don´t gain financial flexibility. His playing and motivational levels are below Porzingis. And he misses just as many, if not more games.

I agree with most of your points but Love has 2 years left and KP has 3 years left. Would they do it possibly, but KP is not going to bring significant value to us. His knees are done

They probably have an extra guard between Ball, Graham, Rozier and Monk, so trading Rozier now before his free agency year makes sense. BTW, his formerly great defense was seemingly left in Boston, but he’s a much better offensive player than he’s been in the past. He may or may not be the answer we’ve been looking for, but we have a year to find out.I liked the original deal, LOVE this one! I think that pick strategy is amazing! Compensation might be a bit lower than I’d actually want and I think the NY media would have a field day on it, but for this team, right now? I think this is a right way to go. One question to raise from this would be, can Bridges maintain good play from the PF position? We know DFS is a lesser player there so far in his career, so going forward we would want players in that spot that make sure he doesn’t get put there in order to take advantage of his best use.

I think Bey is capable of being every bit of the player Bridges is, personally, provided we all (team management included) employ a little patience. Maybe better.

I would definitely do a KP for Rozier, Bridges trade. Hornets have a bunch of guards but no center. I just think those players fit what the Mavs want to do better. Mavs would still have cap space to upgrade J Rich, Hardaway.

Also I am starting to think WCS might be fine for the rMLE given that its hard to get much quality there. Mavs would probably decline his TO but then they could resign him on a new 1+1. WCS is frustrating but has been looking better lately. It makes me think maybe the coaching staff is slowly seeing improvement even with the lack of a real offseason and Covid and all that. If Mavs do get a Holmes type then maybe you don't need WCS for depth at that point but he could be an option at least.

I don’t think @Mavs2021 said what you think he said. The Mavs would be total idiots to offer KP for Love. It’s funny you think it’s the Cavs that would turn it down. They would say yes before Donnie could even finish his sentence. KP has his health issues but he’s still an elite player when healthy. He’s still only 25 and has a chance to become healthier as he has more exposure to the Mavs training staff.

Any interest in a KP for Hayward straight swap?
Just wondering out loud. Another guy somewhat oft injured, highly paid, productive when healthy. Would fill that secondary offense creator role and you could go pay Holmes or Collins whatever it takes. Or not good enough defensively?

He's listed as a PF this year and BBRef has him playing 93% of his minutes there vs last year when he played 72% of his minutes at SF and his numbers are somewhat similar over the last two years although he looks more efficient this year with less attempts and has been breaking out of late. I would see someone like Bridges fitting really well here for basically all the same reasons I felt that Aaron Gordon would have fit very well. We would be able to use DFS/Bridges similar to the way the Suns use Bridges/Jae together. Bridges is also shooting 40% from deep and everyone player who is a lob thread does well in Rick's offense. You show me a frontcourt of DFS/Bridges/Holmes and I'll show you one of the most switchable defenses in the league. This video is a great showing of his defensive possessions. Everything looks tough.

Boban's impact on the locker room is leaps and bounds greater than WCS impact on the court imo. I know, controversial statement given statistically how efficient WCS can be. But the guy's hands are made of stone and he makes some of the most head scratching choices sometimes. Needless to say I think it'd be MUCH easier to replace WCS than it'd be to replace Boban's lockerroom impact.
