LaVine would be really interesting but wouldn't we have the same defensive problems having him and Luka on the floor together? I don't think he would demand a trade but the big decision point is going to likely be next TDL. At that point the Bulls have to figure out whether or not they can resign LaVine. Bulls have been mediocre for a while so that doesn't help.

Anyone been paying attention to Michael Porter living up to all the (pre-injury) draft hype and turning into Kevin Durant in the absence of Murray?
Averaging 25.5 PPG, 6.9 RPG, 1.4 BPG, while shooting 56/47/80. Also Jokic, Murray and MPJ are nearly shooting 50/40/90 COMBINED for the SEASON, , plus Aaron Gordon as a 4th option. This is what Doncic will have to compete with for the next decade You realize all these other teams are f******g loaded with young talent, too. Combos like Embiid/Simmons or Tatum/Brown that are at least level with Luka/Porzingis, but have coaches/GMs with proven FA drawing power, because they have actually won a play-off series in the last decade. We argue about Devonte Graham.

We're not going to be forced to play drop defense if we have Lavine, to put it one way. In any case, that's why we have guys like DFS and Green.

Dont know if it was the owner or GM that everyone kept referring to as saying MPJ is untouchable...looks like that person was smart. That guys shooting ability. That guys length and athleticism for 6'10. I dont think he is as much of a bonehead on defense this year either. He looked lost in the Bubble(also some bad ref calls made him look like a fool but it was bad ref'ing) and looked like he made some stupid fouls. Im assuming if he is not just a complete crippled up stairs that his length and athleticism will turn him into a serviceable if not good defender once the game slows down a bit for him. He's a dagger on offense though.

Good thing MPJ is severely injury prone. He's only been available in 49% of all games for Denver. Means Denver can't be a legit threat if he's only available 50% of the time right?
14x All-Star, 12x all-NBA, 1x MVP, 1x Finals MVP, 1 NBA Championship: Dirk Nowitzki, the man, the myth, the legend.
KP has been available in 66.2% of games in the last two years (including playoffs).
MPJ has been available in 77.5% of games in the last two years (including playoffs). But don't let facts get in the way.

Also played in all 19 playoff games last season. KP missed 39 regular season games over the last two seasons and has lingering knee problems. Only played in four first round games and was out for the rest of the series/playoffs. We obviously can add 82 missed games for both but that wouldn´t change the situation. MPJ is healthy. KP has lingering injury problems. Not to mention that MPJ is on a rookie contract.

A max contract, even a max rookie extension, gets majorly in the way if it's not attached to a real difference maker. An all-star, basically. You can take risks with trades for guys on rookie contracts, guys near the end of their deals, cheap reclamation projects, etc. The Mavs have always been good at doing that, imo. But if/when you give out these big money 4-5 year contracts, they need to go to solutions, not problems.

KP by all accounts wants to play but Mavs training staff have opted to give him rest games. He is not the only one being rested this year. Also it should be mentioned that the condensed schedule this year means even more rest games. We have seen the toll this schedule has taken in players. Many injuries this season. I am not worried ab rest games at all.

My number 1 goal right now (aside from making playoffs) is get to the offseason with a HEALTHY KP...give him a chance to work on his game and not one spent on various injury rehab to see what the result is

People act like we mean to slander up. I ask this. How many professional athletes do you know that are 7´3? Any sport you like: Basketball, Volleyball, American Football, Baseball, Golf, Tennis, Gymnastics, Track&Field (throwing, jumping, running), Ice Hockey, Darts, Snooker, Chess, Cycling, Swimming, Field Hockey, Handball, Skateboarding, Beach Volleyball, Figure Skating, Table Tennis. So I did a quick google search on Volleyball, the one other sport, I figured would have professional players that height. There is ONE. He´s playing in Thailand, so nowhere near a top league. You know how many players 7´3 and taller have played in the NBA throughout history? 28 You know how many have played more than 500 career games? 6 You know how many have played more than 1000 career games? ZERO The Knicks traded him, cause they used these "DATA ANALYTICS", you all love so much. 10 years ago also known as common sense. That is what determines his trade value, too.

If he and Luka had a Lebron/AD fit, then GREAT, roll dice and play for being healthy in the playoffs and making a run to the Finals. But not only have Luka/KP NOT been dominant, they have barely been playoff worthy when they play together.

If he was playing like Embiid, you live with the risk.
