Don Nelson's favorite way to measure how good you are during the season:
Road wins - Home losses LAL: +7 DAL: +4 HOU: +3 LAC: +2 DEN: +2 UTA: +2 According to that measure the Mavs are the second best team in the West so far.

Here is something I've never seen before. You can go to basketball-reference.com to see for yourself. The average NBA player in WS/48 is about 0.100. If you rate a 0.200 or better you are considered all-star level and anything in the 30's is GOAT level. In much the same way Luka's PER is among the best ever, so is his WS/48. But, that isn't what I'm pointing out. What I've never seen before is basically an entire team (13 players or everyone but KP) being rated 0.100 or better. Yes, I've seen an entire playoff rotation at average or better (which is really what matters), but not the entire roster.
For reference, the 2019 Laker's have 8 players above 0.100. Last year and the year before the Mav's had 7 and 6 respectively. During the Championship year Dallas had 11. Last year's Raptor team was also build like this. I'm not saying any of the versions of WS is the be-all/end-all in statistical analysis. Every one of the various Compilation Stats has it's flaws. But, it is pretty encouraging to me. Question...Is this Luka raising the tide of all boats? Or, the GM picking good boats? Or, the coach's schemes using boats effectively? Answer...Yes. Luka 0.306 Broekhoff 0.225 JJB 0.212 Wright 0.186 Boban 0.185 Lee 0.162 Brunson 0.159 Powell 0.156 Kleber 0.135 Jackson 0.135 THJ 0.125 Curry 0.121 DFS 0.106 KP 0.092

As I pointed out in a different thread: Mavs have no classical end of bench. They are loaded with fringe starters and solid rotation players.
