That's asset management. Draft a guy 29th, develop him, trade him for a good player and a haul of picks.
Cuban and team could take lessons. They never let Murray get in position of demanding a stupid sum of money and worked it into a great deal for the Spurs.

That's what teams like SA, Miami and Toronto do.
