Need to get rid of the dinosaur they overpaid last summer to make space for a new shinny dinosaur that won´t play.

if they do something stupid like the split the MLE between scrubs like Drummond and Crowder, I'm rioting
Well not really. I'll just go back to feeling depressed for future of the team after a week of happiness

I would be disappointed in Crowder, just because it’s a little less inspired than the level of move they established on draft night, and because he’s getting a little long in the tooth. I’d get behind that in the end because ultimately, what he brings to the table is all stuff they need and will put to good use.

But DRUMMOND?! He’s probably the free agent I’d want the least out of all possibilities. I just can’t even.

yeah the Crowder from a couple years ago could be a good fit
Guess I'm just holding that weird temper tantrum he threw last year against him. He really held out that long and didn't play because Cam Johnson won the starting spot over him? Not a good look

They deserve a lot of credit for a well executed draft day. Creative ideas. Good asset management. Would be super disappointing if they follow it up with another attempt to recreate the Kidd/Dudley Lakers.

So looks like no Drummond after all. Good

Stein was reporting that Drummond was in question if a trade wouldn't happen. Than later he said in his chat that it isn't Ayton...

I have a stron feeling that we'll get a Mavs trade soon, just don't know who it is... I was seeing KAT somwhere but I really hope it's not him.. I think I'll get my answer before I go to sleep haha

Someone will be paying him $61 million in 2027-28
I pray to god it's not us

RE: MAVS NEWS: Mavs keep Bullock - Chicagojk - 06-29-2023

I wouldn't rule out Drummond.  No idea though.  Dallas still has a TPE that could fit his salary, right?  I wouldn't think the Bulls would care either way.    Who knows though.  Maybe the deal was contingent of him opting in?   Or maybe contingent of Mavs finding a trade for either McGee or Holmes first.

Mo Bamba supposedly being released by the Lakers.  It is like Minimum salary center Christmas today.

RE: MAVS NEWS: Mavs keep Bullock - omahen - 06-29-2023

Drummond would only make sense if McGee is out. But it doesn't look Mavs found a place for him yet. And I totally agree with everyone here. He is a vet min guy, that shouldn't see a minute in playoffs. I mean, I don't think it would make much difference if Mavs just brought back Bobi instead of Drummond.

YEAH BABY

Perfect
For contract reasons alone, he'd be my #1 priority even if other guys like GWill would fit better sizewise
Maybe we can even workout a sign and trade for someone like that but that can wait

RE: MAVS NEWS: Mavs keep Bullock - ThisIStheYear - 06-29-2023

Bamba for a small salary? I’d be interested.

JamesConway912 - JamesConway912 - 06-29-2023

Mo Bamba waived as well

Bamba
Reddish
Bruce Brown
Grant Williams

Bunch of names to keep in mind, all linked to the Mavs in the past.

JamesConway912 - JamesConway912 - 06-29-2023

Lakers not picking up the team option on Malik Beasley as well.

(06-29-2023, 02:01 PM)ThisIStheYear Wrote: So far, today’s news makes no sense. No way you want Drummond if McGee remains on the roster. Kyrie’s alternative to Dallas is Phoenix?  And, he’d have to play for $25 million or less?  If that’s the case, he actually hates Dallas and is trying to play nice, or Dallas is lowballing him more than we thought.  I guess Ayton is worth more than the Mavs gave up to acquire Kyrie, so I’d take the win (though it would be disappointing). But then why get another  true center in Drummond when you’ve already drafted one high?  Hopefully, all will be revealed and will make sense.

I'm not sure I believe some of the rumors like the Suns would have done Timmy/Holmes for Ayton, but there is no way Ayton is worth more than what we gave up for Kyrie.  An unrestricted first is huge value.  Nobody is giving that for an overpaid Ayton.  If they were it would have been done already.

I need to be able to like this multiple times. That rumor ruined my day.
