They're that desperate.

Thing is Dragic has already come out and said he pretty much only wants to play in Miami or Dallas cause of Luka. I don't think he's interested in saving a desperate Knicks franchise and playing 48mpg under Thibs.

Pacers should be a friendly team to do business with.  I would imagine.

There was a rumor, not sure if true, that they would move Fournier and get off his $.   They wouldn't keep Dragic, I don't think.   I think it makes less sense for Toronto though.  Would Toronto wants any of their centers?  I assume Knicks wouldn't move Robinson for him.    Noel?   Toronto is looking for a center.

You’re preaching to the choir on Porzingis. As you know, I would’ve traded him a long time ago. The thing is, the Mavericks didn’t trade him, and there is no reason to think they are about to trade him this week. If he’s here, you kind of owe it to the team to try to make the rotation makes sense with him.

I know we all agree that the team isn’t quite to contender level yet, and I know there are some here who want to throw any chance of being competitive (to the extent they can) out the window in the name of reaching for that contender status, but I just don’t think it really works that way. I think you keep trying to get better, but you simultaneously have to give this group a chance to reach their full potential. In other words, if KP is here, you have to plan for that, at least a little bit. I might feel differently if these past 20 games had not happened and the team was at the play-in range or something.

Last 20 games include 12 without KP. Mavs record in those games...9-3. The same story that we saw in the last two seasons. The team is just as good (maybe even better) without the highest paid player.
Only problem I see is the possibility that there simply is no interest in KP. If we want to get rid of him. Why would any team want him?

Cause he´s a big name and desperate teams do desperate things. Don´t forget he´s a Unicorn, even if he shoots like a donkey. Perception is reality.

The question is just whether Cuban is willing to take the (perceived) talent step back now to make a giant step forward in 6-15 months. He´s never in 20 years been willing to do this, especially when his giant ego over another failed trade (Porzingis/THJ) is involved.

Just like the unusual super summer of young unrestricted free agents (Lavine, Randle etc.) this seems an unusually active trade deadline with a bunch of rebuilding and desperate teams giving up legit talent/prospects. I´m sure Washington or Sacramento would deal for Porzingis with a reasonable return like Holmes/Bagley/X or KCP/Bryant/Hachimura. Also feels like there is a way to trade THJ at a reasonable cost. Indiana, Orlando and Detroit being the obvious candidates (Olynyk/Diallo or Harris/Bamba or Hield).

I would argue he did that with Barnes.  The fact that they supposedly were trading THJ would be another example if they do it.

There has been talk that Houston wants a first for Gordon but that was going to be hard to get for a 30 year old with an injury history with only one year left on his contract.  But the Jazz may be desperate.  Not sure if he is the best fit for what they need, but Gordon is good if healthy.   He gets hurt a lot though.

Ingles and a first is what they are offering to teams.   What else would they need to include for salary?   That would be a real tough decision, but Utah's clock is ticking.
