Perhaps the Mavs enter the Pacers+Kings trade and turn it into a 3-teamer.

Mavs take on Buddy Hield and in return get Richaun Holmes. Kings take on Maxi, and the Pacers take on THJ.

IF we believe the rumors that the Pacers actually took a call from the Mavs centered around THJ for LaVert, that interest might still be there.

Further, this saves the Pacers from just crossing the lux-tax, as THJ salary is 2 mil below Hields.

Sounds like Morey is leaking news again.  He is good.  He finds ways to make things happen, but I find it hard to believe OKC is going to take Harris.    That is a huge #.   If I am OKC, I need Maxey for this.    So what I am saying is they are going to need to give up a valuable asset to get off Harris contract imo.

I still think Nets should hold on to Harden for now...unless they get an offer that is a no brainer.  But I will admit, Morey can get really creative.

Philly has all the picks available, no problem to throw two protected picks to dump Harris. They will likely even get them from Simmons trade. There will be cap space teams in the summer able to take Simmons for a couple of picks without sending salary back. There are no such teams now. Sure Morey would prefer to do the deal now, but he can also wait. Nets have same dilemma. Sell Harden now and get something or risk losing him in summer for nothing. That would be devastating for them.

Ok nevermind. F any other plan. Give PHX whatever they want and get Ayton next to Luka.

I think Ayton is a better player, so KP at same money doesn't solve their issues. They need a cheaper good center. I would look Capela/Nurkic way, for example.

Well, I do have a theory that the Pho owner refuses to trade with Dal ever since the Nash debacle.

I can see Capela.

Thing is PHX is still looking to contend. KP is on paper a better individual player than both of those. I agree the money concerns kind of make it a moot point though.

I didn't think of using picks they acquired from a Simmons trade.  I guess I can see that.

I just am not sure OKC is going to take on that big contract for picks.  They already have all the picks.  Harris would really limit their flexibility.

Maybe I am wrong, but I think it would cost Philly substantially more than picks. Now maybe there is another lower tier team who may want picks to take on Harris.   Not sure who though.

That would make sense if we were sending KP for Siakam or something like that.  I prefer KP as a center, and this would make him a 4.

I think Summer is a lose-lose situation for both teams. Unless of course Nets know something Philly doesn't. But it sure doesn't really look Harden is willing to stay.

RE: NBA TRADE TALK: TDL Feb 10, 2pm | PHI moving toward Harden deal? - SleepingHero - 02-09-2022

Its pretty interesting seeing who has connections to Morey and who has connections to the Nets.

Nets have repeatedly said they're not interested in a deal. Yet somehow someway there are tweets saying the exact opposite.
