RE: OFFSEASON: Mavs Trade & FA (Nov 21?) + Salary Chart | Season (Dec 22? 72 gms?) - KillerLeft - 10-30-2020 (10-30-2020, 06:16 AM)omahen Wrote:(10-30-2020, 05:30 AM)ClutchDirk Wrote: https://sports.yahoo.com/report-victor-oladipo-stay-pacers-230019287.html All the chatter lately has been that there really isn't a trade market for Oladipo. I've heard several people claim that teams are telling them he was so bad in his short post-injury stints that nobody wants to offer anything for him until they "see him look like Oladipo." Basically, Indiana is hoping he'll play well enough early to be worth more at the deadline. RE: OFFSEASON: Mavs Trade & FA (Nov 21?) + Salary Chart | Season (Dec 22? 72 gms?) - omahen - 10-30-2020 (10-30-2020, 07:37 AM)Mapka Wrote: But this seems reasonable to me. It may be to you. But I think Utah might think it is too light for them. Even if they decide to trade Gobert, they will want to keep contending. Curry and Wright or Kleber and Wright is an extreme step back in this regard for Utah compared to Gobert. Even Curry and Kleber is weak. If he is publicly claiming he wants to go to Miami, who will pay anything serious for him at the TDL? A contender looking for that final piece will not give up his good players. It makes absolutely no sense for a tanking team to trade anything of value for a half year rental in a lost season. So, as long as this is the real Oladipo message, as it was written in the article, he will stay in Indy unless they are ok to move him for meh player(s) and pick(s). That's why Boston gives draft compensation. The Jazz are trading Gorbert for less because they don't see a way to keep him. We could trade Curry and Maxi for space and picks and sign Hayward outright. So why would we pay the Jazz to give Gorbert to Boston? RE: OFFSEASON: Mavs Trade & FA (Nov 21?) + Salary Chart | Season (Dec 22? 72 gms?) - omahen - 10-30-2020 (10-30-2020, 07:55 AM)Mapka Wrote: We could trade Curry and Maxi for space and picks I think you are wrong here. If you want pure space, I doubt you will get picks back. Actually, I think you would be paying for it. Miami had to pay a FRP to move expiring Harkless last year, and he is a very solid player. Let me ask you this. Assuming he opts in and he is available, would you pay a FRP for Caldwell Pope? RE: OFFSEASON: Mavs Trade & FA (Nov 21?) + Salary Chart | Season (Dec 22? 72 gms?) - Mapka - 10-30-2020 (10-30-2020, 08:07 AM)omahen Wrote:(10-30-2020, 07:55 AM)Mapka Wrote: We could trade Curry and Maxi for space and picks I saw hawksfans proposing Powell+#31 for space. OKC sends Schroder to LA for Green + 28, Mavs send 31 + Wright, Jackson to OKC and receive Green. For sure I would rather give up future seconds but the issue is that you are paying a price for the dumping of Wright's contract. So I could see the upgrade of Wright to Green + shedding 2021 dollars as worth the price for the Mavs. RE: OFFSEASON: Mavs Trade & FA (Nov 21?) + Salary Chart | Season (Dec 22? 72 gms?) - DanSchwartzgan - 10-30-2020 I think this was posted earlier, but several names we talk about a lot here: 2 FA's (C. Wood and Gallinari), 2 trade candidates (A. Gordon and Gordon H.) and two draft picks (C. Anthony and T. Terry). I found myself wanting all of them. https://www.theringer.com/2020/10/27/21536904/most-intriguing-free-agents-gainfully-employed-players-and-draft-picks RE: OFFSEASON: Mavs Trade & FA (Nov 21?) + Salary Chart | Season (Dec 22? 72 gms?) - StepBackJay - 10-30-2020 Are ya'll seriously wanting Hayward on a multi-year deal? I don't. I am interested if Mavs could get him on a 1 yr without giving up too much. I am not ready to give up cap space in 2021. I am getting sucked in by national guys linking Giannis to Dallas. Not ready to give up on that dream for Hayward. Not ready to give up on that dream for Hayward. We've discussed the idea of both. It's actually possible. Not saying it would be the last great move and make them a contender, but I think you'd be shocked at how great a healthy Hayward would look here in this system. Would he be healthy? No idea, but I trust the Mavs enough these days not to do something monumentally stupid, so if they pull the trigger on that, I'll be a believer. RE: OFFSEASON: Mavs Trade & FA (Nov 21?) + Salary Chart | Season (Dec 22? 72 gms?) - omahen - 10-30-2020 Another rumor from Hawks guy related to our latest conversations: Atlanta also been talking to agents like crazy and the player who has gotten interest from Atlanta is Gordon Hayward. RE: OFFSEASON: Mavs Trade & FA (Nov 21?) + Salary Chart | Season (Dec 22? 72 gms?) - KillerLeft - 10-30-2020 (10-30-2020, 08:42 AM)omahen Wrote: Another rumor from Hawks guy related to our latest conversations: If that's true, there's your market setter. They have all the cap space in the world. "Atlanta offered this. Match it, and I'll stay. Or, sign me to this other, slightly lower amount and trade me to Dallas for whatever you can get in return. Either way, I'm opting out." This is how it COULD work. Then again, every part of these rumors could be BS. RE: OFFSEASON: Mavs Trade & FA (Nov 21?) + Salary Chart | Season (Dec 22? 72 gms?) - StepBackJay - 10-30-2020 If having Hayward on a long-term contract and 2021 cap space requires him taking a double digit haircut in first year salary I don't buy it. I think he actually gets some info. I am also sure, teams are checking all possible angles and making all possible offers, most of them being bluntly rejected. But hey, you have to try it. @to all. Since we can't consolidate to like any player here on this forum, how about this proposal for flexibility? #18 for OKC #25 in 2020 and their worst FRP in 2021? OKC has a ton of picks in 2021 (I can't even figure out how many out of all their pick swaps and picks protections), but only #25 this year. Getting pick in 2021 gives us flexibility above everything. We would be able to trade 2021, 2025 and 2027 picks next year. So imagine Giannis agrees to come here - that lot might net us another star(ish) player in a trade. I imagine they like the player as a fit here, and have no trouble believing they've talked to his agent and kicked the tires on the idea of pulling this off with Boston. We won't have any idea whether they like him at THE PRICE it will take to sign him and make this deal until they do it. If they don't do it, we won't know WHY. Will it be because of health? Future flexibility? Did they just not think he was good enough to justify the contract he wanted? We'll never know. In most situations, I think it's dumb to criticize a team for a move they DIDN'T make. We just don't know enough about what's going on behind the scenes to judge things accurately. Everybody assumes they get Oladipo from a few years back, but his partial season didn't show much to be excited about. I wonder if he's trying to leverage a new deal, with either IND or MIA, before it becomes apparent that he's not what he once was. (conspiracy theory of the day) RE: OFFSEASON: Mavs Trade & FA (Nov 21?) + Salary Chart | Season (Dec 22? 72 gms?) - ClutchDirk - 10-30-2020 Phoenix Suns small forward Kelly Oubre is a potential trade target for the Golden State Warriors, according to ESPN's Nick Friedell. "The name that keeps popping up when you talk to people is Kelly Oubre," Friedell said Wednesday on The Jump. "Can they get him in? What would they have to give up? They have the trade exception for Andre Iguodala as well that expires here in a little bit." |
